1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Marketing.Storage LLC, a Utah limited liability company doing business as Marketing.Storage ("Marketing.Storage," "we," "us," or "our"), operates Websites.Storage™, including the portal at app.websites.storage and related tools (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information about the people who use the Service ("you").
The Service is for business use. You are using it as an employee, contractor, or representative of a business (your "Organization"), such as Marketing.Storage, a partner company, or a client.
This policy does not cover personal information we process on behalf of our customers, such as visitors to a customer's website. Section 5 explains how that works.
Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings in our Terms of Use.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you or your Organization give us.
- Account information: your name, work email address, Organization, and role. Your Organization's admin or Marketing.Storage usually provides this when creating your Account.
- Content you submit: business details you enter to build or manage Sites, such as a business name, address, phone number, website address, and logo. This is usually information about a business, but it can include information about people, such as a business owner's name.
- Confirmations: records that you confirmed a Customer authorized a Site, with the time and Account used.
- Support and communications: messages you send us, requests you submit, and notes you add in the Service.
2.2 Information collected automatically.
- Activity and audit records: sign-ins, builds, changes, settings updates, and other actions, with the time and the Account that took them.
- Device and log information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages requested, and timestamps, collected for security, troubleshooting, and audit purposes.
- Sign-in information: we send single-use sign-in links to your email. We keep records needed to make those links work and to detect misuse.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6.
2.3 Information from others. Your Organization's admin may add, change, or deactivate your Account. Marketing.Storage staff may update your Account when supporting your Organization.
2.4 What we ask you not to submit. Please do not enter Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account or payment card numbers, or health information into the Service unless a feature specifically asks for it.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage Accounts and sign you in;
- build, publish, host, change, and unpublish Sites, and provide the rest of the Service;
- keep audit records of who did what and when;
- calculate usage and fees owed by your Organization;
- secure the Service, prevent fraud and misuse, and investigate incidents;
- provide support and send service messages, such as sign-in links, alerts, and notices about changes;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, including through aggregated and de-identified data;
- enforce our Terms of Use and protect our rights; and
- comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use your personal information to send marketing for third parties, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only as described below.
- Within your Organization. Your Organization's admins can see your Account, role, and the Sites and activity within your Organization.
- With Marketing.Storage staff who need it to operate and support the Service.
- With service providers that host the Service, store data, deliver email, provide website and content delivery infrastructure, and support our operations. They may use the information only to provide services to us, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- On published Sites. Content you submit for a Site, such as a business name, address, phone number, and logo, is published publicly on that Site.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that law or legal process requires it, or that it is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Marketing.Storage, our users, customers, or the public.
- In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
- With your consent or at your Organization's direction.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Information we process for customers
Some Marketing.Storage services run on our customers' public websites, such as unit availability, rental, and checkout tools. When those tools handle information about a customer's website visitors or renters, we process that information on behalf of the customer, as its service provider. The customer decides why and how that information is used, and the customer's own privacy policy governs it.
We use that information only to provide the services the customer requested, under our agreement with the customer, and as required by law. If you are a visitor or renter on a customer's website and have a privacy question, please contact that business directly. We will assist the customer in responding where required.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The portal uses a cookie that keeps you signed in and protects your session. It is required for the Service to work. Your browser may also store small preferences, such as light or dark mode, on your own device.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking in the portal. Because the cookies we use are required, the portal may not work if you block them.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, generally as follows:
- Account information: while your Account exists, and for up to three years after it is deactivated or deleted, for audit and legal purposes.
- Activity and audit records: for up to seven years, because they document who built and changed Sites and support billing, tax, and dispute resolution. A deleted person's name stays in audit records and on Sites they built.
- Device and log information: for up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate a security issue.
- Content for Sites: while the Site is hosted, and for up to three years afterward for backup, billing, and legal purposes.
- Usage and billing records: for up to seven years, as needed for accounting and tax purposes.
Deleted information may remain in backups until those backups are overwritten on their normal schedule. We may keep information longer if law requires it or to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. They include:
- encrypted connections (HTTPS) to the portal;
- sign-in links that work only once, expire after a short time, and are stored only in protected form;
- access limited by role and by Organization, enforced on our servers;
- audit records of significant actions; and
- separate test and production environments.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your email account, since access to it can give access to your Account, and tell us right away at support@marketing.storage or (385) 501-2374 if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can view your Account details in the Service. Ask your Organization's admin or contact us to correct them.
- Deactivation and deletion. Your Organization's admin can deactivate or delete your Account, or you can ask us to. Some records are kept after deletion as described in Section 7.
- Email. We send only sign-in links and service messages. You cannot opt out of these while you have an Account, because they are needed to use the Service.
- Rights under state law. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, contact us at legal@marketing.storage. We will verify your request and respond as the law requires. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
Because the Service is provided to your Organization, we may refer some requests to your Organization or need its involvement to complete them.
10. Children
The Service is for business users and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Users outside the United States
We are based in the United States, and the Service is hosted in the United States. Many people who use the Service work outside the United States. If you are one of them, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Where the law where you live requires a legal basis for processing, we process your information to perform our agreement with your Organization and provide the Service you use for work, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service and keeping accurate records, and to comply with our legal obligations.
Your Organization chose to give you access to the Service and is responsible for telling you that your work information is shared with us. You may have rights under your local law, such as to access, correct, or delete your information. You can exercise them as described in Section 9, and we will respond as the law that applies to you requires.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version with a new effective date and, for material changes, give notice through the Service or by email before the change takes effect.
